Pattern: Noni Skinny Tube Baguette and Noni Spider Chrysanthemum
Finished size: 16" L x 8" DSupplies: wool pink and red yard four reins; needles size 11; plastic handles; crochet hook
Assembly time: took me so long that I am no longer digging the style, but love it for storing needles
Modification: end pieces made of single color; disregarded knitting the flower and switched to crocheting
Recommend: yes, but switch the handles to something not plastic and crochet the flower
Sorry, this pattern is out of print.
There is one thing in this world that I am not...a knitter. What I lack in skill, however, is sheer determination to become one. This Noni bag was started a few years back and I just finished it. While I had very little problem knitting the bag, and thank the havens that felting covers a load a sins, this bag came together rather easily---even the circular end pieces. What I did have difficultly in completing was the flower, which was the whole reason I selected this project. I tried so many times (and I am not just saying that) that I nearly gave up until I stopped reading the directions that kept telling me to knit/bind-off, blah blah blah, and grabbed the crochet hook. Mark my words, crocheting is the way to go when making a spider chrysanthemum! Since, I am not great at crocheting either, this lack of skill only helped make the pedals curly and uneven after felting.
