I know I have posted a little about my grandmother who was a professional seamstress. One of her jobs was working at a department store in fur alterations. Can you imagine? Many people these days are horrified of the thought. That was a different time. Fur takes enormous talent to work with and a mistake can be costly. When grandma passed away, she left me her button collection. It included buttons she had collected from the alterations of the fur coats she worked on. In memory of her, I made this coat using a set of her buttons. I love everything about this coat down to the buttons.
I changed nothing about this pattern but the number of buttons used. It is the best pattern I’ve used this year. Vogue pattern V8754 is awesome! The directions are perfectly clear. Remember to get enough fabric if you need to match fabric. Otherwise, the fabric required is spot on. I have and will make this coat again.
Another lovely coat, and a lovely tribute to your grandmother.
