Do you ever stop a project midway and come back to it with the thought, "What was I thinking?" Well, Ms. Alma was abandoned with the collar completely cut, one shirt back, and two front pieces. Oh, and there was no fabric left for the short sleeves that are pictured on the pattern envelope for view B. All was righted when I remembered that one of the front pieces was cut in the wrong direction---the swimmer where all on their backs when they clearly should have been diving face first or suffer from a broken neck.
So, with limited resources, the sleeve caps from another version where used and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Other than the gap for the Peter Pan collar, which I have no idea what I did wrong for it to occur, I left the zipper out of my version creating a similar garment to the intended design.
This shirt ended up better than I expected. I love the whimsical fabric and know this shirt will be perfect when the temperature is above freezing. Three cheers for all the people who gave this pattern a thumbs up because I totally agree.
Very pretty and simply beautiful Alma! x
